N Street Village

N Street Village logo

In keeping with its mission of hospitality and welcoming the stranger, Luther Place opened its church building in 1973 to provide shelter for people who were homeless and destitute. Christened N Street Village, this ministry has evolved into a continuum of services and supportive housing.

The programs of N Street Village provide many volunteer opportunities for people to become partners in this visionary enterprise. Each of us has a gift to give: the opportunity to assist a human being in their journey back to wholeness and well-being. In this way, we complete ourselves and make our community whole.

The community of N street Village includes:

Bethany Women's Center

A drop-in center that provides basic services such as meals, clothing, showers, laundry facilities, recreation and case management for homeless women.

Luther Place Night Shelter

Providing housing for up to 31 women while helping them set and achieve goals for moving out of homelessness.

Carol Holmes House and Raoul Wallenberg House

Group homes for women living with mental illness.

Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Apartments

That provide transitional housing for graduates of our addiction recovery program.

A Wellness Center

That focuses on health education and illness prevention.

Eden House

Offering affordable, rental housing for low-income families.
