Education

Grow closer to God through education. We have education for all ages at 10 A.M. each Sunday from September through May, as well as other opportunities throughout the year.

Sunday School

There is Sunday School education available for all children. For children 2 to 5 years of age, a parent is expected to stay with their child during the class.  We have a confirmation class which meets each week during the Sunday School hour for children in grades 7, 8 and 9.

Children are welcome at and encouraged to attend all of our worship services.  A staffed nursery is also available. Both our 9 A.M. and 11 A.M. services include a children's message offered by the clergy.

"After studying Jesus' baptism, I'm better able to understand the baptisms at Luther Place."

Adult Bible Study and the Adult Forum

Adult education occurs every Sunday at 10 A.M. between the services. This group discusses a wide range of topics, including contemporary issues, Scripture, and books on current subjects.

"It gives me an opportunity to discuss issues of life from a Christian perspective."

The Luther Place Library & Archives

Luther Place has an extensive archive and library which are cared for and made available to the congregation by several members, who welcome additional hands.

"I've learned that Luther Place has always been involved in the life of the city."

Retreats

On several weekends each year, retreats are held at Rolling Ridge Retreat Center in West Virginia. The retreat house in the woods is about 1 1/2 hours away. One-day retreats are also occasionally held on Saturdays at the church.  Each retreat combines a theme and fellowship.

"I can step back from my daily life, explore a topic of interest, and get to know my fellow travelers in our life journey."
