"We are all survivors . . ."

"Love and life has overcome hatred and death."
-Lutheran Church of Rwanda Vision Statement
At the invitation of Rwandan Pastor John Rutsindintwarane and Bishop George Kalisa, a delegation of fourteen people from Luther Place traveled to Rwanda to witness, support and celebrate the Lutheran Church of Rwanda's ministries of education, reconciliation and community development. We split our time between the capital, Kigali, and a rural community, Kirehe. In Kigali we learned about Rwandan culture and history with a focus on genocide and the reconciliation process. In Kirehe we had the opportunity to visit with church, government and community leaders, to work on service project, to stay in host families' homes, to participate in Rwandan life and worship, and to build lasting relationships.
Thanks to all who supported this journey. We went to Rwanda with a $5000 gift to the community in Kirihe in hand, thanks to the generousity of all who donated. Please continue to pray for this journey and the ministries of the Lutheran Church of Rwanda.
